Halo: RP evolved

At the sound of the blaring alarms, Benjamin held his hand to his forehead, then let out a long sigh. Benjamin gathered his things and nodded for another scientist to follow him. Looking back to the spartan he said "Looks like it's time for you to do your job soldier... try and keep them from destroying the entire base while you're at it." Reaching into his coat he awkwardly pulled out a key-card. After some adjusting to hold both the card and the other files and cases in his hands, Benjamin managed to get the card scanned. Both Benjamin and the other scientist entered through the door down into the deepest parts of the complex, just before the door magnetically sealed behind them.

Zorn heard the alarms and the call for retreat. Covering his squad Zorn made it to the nearest transport. Getting in and keeping his weapon charged Zorn waited for the ship to arrive at their next desination.

As the phantom containing the hunter moved across the sky a voice crackled over the communications in the cockpit. The voice soon forwarded to the hunters helmet. "Zorn, your squad is needed at a city, not to far from you. They are in need of some shock troopers." With that the voice crackled off and the phantom shifted onto a new corse...
Vox observed the base through his scope, nothing seemed strange or different then the other human fortifications that he had seen. "Alarm." The sniper next to him thought out loud as a small red light started to flash in the base. Cursing Vox tapped his headset and spoke clearly as he kept observing the base. "The humans know we are here, they have the alarm active, orders?" It took a minute for a reply to come. "Begin the attack, the main force will join you soon, we also have a hunter unit on route." "Yes sir." Smiling slightly Vox raised his hand and gave the signal. "Make them count." "Count them up." He and the sniper next to him said as they watched the base for possible targets....

"Benjamin I need you up here and bring whatever new toy you have that I can use we are outnumbered and pinned down"

Hearing the comment from the Spartan upstairs through the communications system, Benjamin rolled his eyes. After a few moments, Benjamin pressed a small red button under a few papers. After some whirring sounds a small microphone came up through the table. Benjamin picked it up and spoke into it, the sounds reverberated through the area that the Spartan was standing in. "You cant rush genius, Spartan," he said "I'll send in a few of the guards down here... but you can't just expect me to just send in prototypes of my work without proper study." Benjamin placed the microphone down and moved some other papers aside. Locating the proper button, Benjamin let his fingers glide across its surface. Feeling appropriately acquainted with that small green button, he pressed down slowly until green lights flashed in one section of the room he was in. Suddenly about six black-armor clad troops filed in through a nearby door. The other scientists in the room pointed towards another door and said "Ground level, get up there before we lose any more of this building..." The guards all instantly headed up towards the floor where all the action was being held. Benjamin went back to work.

locating the perfect sniper perch once again Adrian looked out on the mass of troops assembling about a mile and a half from the complex. using his scope to check out what he was dealing with he panned across the forces and he noticed that one of the Jackal's looked familiar... checking closer Adrian was sure that this is the very same one that he had clipped earlier. lining up for a shot that would finish the job, Adrian decided to cause mayham instead... locating the nearest explosive object he shot..

"Vox, come over here, the rest of you keep firring." Came a voice through Voxes headset. Shrugging he got up, patting the sniper next to him on the shoulder as he walked away. "Leave some for me." Walking back to his commander he saluted as the elite looked down at him. "You've seen the structure, where can you see as the weakest point?" Taking the binoculars from the elites hand he looked at the structure. Pointing with his clawed hand he gave the binoculars back. "There, right next to the main building I can see some of it starting to crack, more then the rest. But a flash of green caught his attention. Snatching the binoculars back from the elite he zoomed in as much as he could. Soon the green blob came into focus, and Voxes breath caught in his throat. "De..Demon." He said, trying to keep his voice steady as he handed back the binoculars. "Doesn't matter, soon his head will adorn my chambers in high charity." The elite said without a care as he raised his arm. "Begin the attack."
Soon the city was being bombarded with plasma fire, the covenant getting ever closer to the city.
Vox shook the thought of the demon from his mind as he walked back toward his sniper unit. He didn't even know when he was knocked out, all he remembered feeling was a lot of heat behind him until he was flying through the air. Hitting the ground with a crunch he was instantly out. The sniper shot from the demon had started a chain reaction. the commander of the attacking forces was dead, as were most of his most elite soldiers, not to mention a good one third of the attacking force...Barely six hundred soldiers were left, and most of them were either already attacking the base or were trying to get the fire under control. The snipers leaving their posts to help put out the fires and help who they could...

The ship hit the ground at breackneck eploding in into pieces. Thankfully Zorn was thrown away from the ship befire it hit the ground. Zorn got up and shook himself off. Hearing a rifle fire near by Zorn charged his cannon an marched toward the base about 500 yards away.

As the explosion shook the ground, Benjamin futilly attempted to stop some of his instruments from falling over. Within moments he had a broken monitor and three broken sensor arrays. Benjamin shook his head as he gathered all his broken materials and set them into a portable incinerator. He looked sternly at his work for a few long moments... then chimed in on the communications channel in the area that the fighting was taking place, "Would any of you mind attempting to keep this place in one piece? I happen to be doing some important work down here!" he shouted. Slamming his fist onto a nearby table he slowly got back to work.
Just after the explosion, the guards Benjamin had sent finally reached the top floor. Each of them began taking up positions and shot anything close enough that had survived the blast. One of them looked over to the Spartan, waiting for something... (You can take control of them if you want Fire_elf)

"You six with me now!, I just saw something I want to investigate, it looked like nothing I have ever seen from the Covenant"
leaving the complex with his six "guards" Adrian worked his way toward the mountains where he had seen the ship. the sighting had been brief but it was huge and nothing like anything Covenant he had yet seen. as they worked ever nearer Adrian wondered if the Covenant forces knew what it was, and if not would they too send someone to investigate?...
in the distance east of the complex in the mountains a supership was setting down the wash from its engines destroying everything for several miles. no sign of what piloted it had been seen.

(anyone is welcome to fill in what the ship is or whos it is)

Even though the remaining covenant tried desperately to try and control the blaze they knew that they could do nothing to stop it. A feeling of dread confirmed as the fire reached the vehicles...and the fuel. A plum of fire shot high into the sky as all the vehicals went up in flames. The remaining soldiers didn't even need to hear the order to retreat, they were already running....
Vox groaned as he slowly woke up. The first thing he noticed before his vision even came into focus was the fact that it was really hot. The second thing was the pain that show through his leg, the same one he had been shot in. Screaming he clutched his leg in pain as he looked around for anything or anyone who could help him. But he was alone....he couldn't see any other covenant anywhere(and thats a LONG way, Jackal's have very good vision.) Looking back he could see the source of the heat, the fire that was raging at the vehicles. He sighed as he looked back at his leg. Now he had no hope of escape, he knew he wouldn't be able to make it back to the city on his leg. But the crushing of the burned grass behind him made him gulp as he slowly turned around....

(It can either be Admins character or some of the humans, whoever posts first can decide.)

(just a question that went through my head now.. do you think there would some humans who would defect and join the covenant? )

Zorn heard a groaning seeminl comig from no where. Zorn doubled back and listened again and followded the groaning back to a small creature. A Jackel Zorn thought to himself. I gotta help him. Zorn leanded down and picked up the Jackal and walked off and readying his cannon if they ran into someone that would pose a threat.

Vox could hardly believe his luck. He had a broken leg, the rest of the army had deserted him, and now he was going to be killed by a hunter because he didn't get out of the way. He sighed as he shut his eyes and prepared for death. But to his amazement that hunter didn't crush him, but picked him up and started to carry him away from the humans. Vox looked up at the armored covered 'head' of the hunter. But didn't speak, not wanting to question why it saved his life...

(Remember that hunters can talk Admin, but its a little like telepathy)

Benjamin finally entered in the last pieces of data he needed from a main terminal in the lab he was in. Benjamin and his fellow researcher packed up as much as they could and headed to the garage. Once in the garage, they were greeted by a lone mechanic welding a side of the hovercraft they had traveled in earlier. The mechanic looked up, "She's all prepped for you. Four soldiers are already inside it and ready; I put some outer plating on all the previously exposed seats on the side. Now they will actually have some cover," he said. Benjamin nodded, and threw his equipment into the trunk, as did his peer. They both squeezed themselves into the now-cramped hovercraft. Benjamin tapped pressed a button to speak with the driver.
"Head out north by north-west, we're going out towards the mountains to grab the cargo..." he said. Just like that, they were off... zooming through the vast barren landscape before the mountains.

Zorn walked into the base camp without receiving a scratch. Zorn walked further along the camp grounds until her reached the medical Officer. Zorn knelt down and place the little jackal on one of the beds and walked out. Zorn wandered to the far eastside of the camp and looked out over the battle field waiting for his next orders.

Vox was still amazed that a hunter would help him, not only that be deliver him to a med station. But soon his feeling of bewilderment was replaced by pain as the medic started to heal his broken leg, the some one that had been shot earlier. Gritting his teeth as the medic worked his leg was soon bandaged up again, luckily it wasn't that bad of a break, and Vox would still be able to walk....
Which is what he did, out of the med bay as he cautiously approached the blue giant. Other covenant near by stopped to watch, no Jackal had ever approached a hunter before. Most of the elites smiled, expecting the jackal to be a bloody splat on the ground soon. Gulping slightly Vox stood a little behind the hunter as he cleared his throat. "Why did you help me?" He asked simply, his voice easily showing his fear...

Zorn looked dow to see the tiny Jackal talking to him. Zorn explained telepathicly to the little creature that he rescued him due to a promise that he made a long time ago, aout never abadoning his troop or anyone else that happened to be on his side of the war.

"If only the Shangheili were that dedicated." Vox said as he smiled slightly at the hunter. But his small smile quickly turned into a look of horor as he looked at the hunter. He could easily be killed for what he just said. Looking fearfully around he was lucky that no-one else showed any signs of hearing him. Looking back at the hunter he just prayed that it was feeling nice.....

Zorn looked down at the little Jackel and slowly shook his head. "I do not kill without a reason" Zorn said to the Jackel "You have nothing to fear I shall never kill you or anyone else I know for that matter, unless thye lose their minds and join the flood. What are you doing in a place like this?"

Vox realized visibly as he looked back to the hunter, slinging his rifle over his shoulder. "I am here because I was assigned her Excellency." He looked around at the city that the remains of the army had run back to. He sighed as he thought of all the soldiers that had died...from one Demon. Looking past the med lab at the largest building he could see the group of elites that were the now commanders on a comm station, probably requesting reinforcements. But then he looked at the tops of the buildings around the city, there were no more jackals left....Gulping Vox prayed that they were all just somewhere else, getting a briefing or something. Dragging his mind back to the hunter he seemed to notice just now that the hunter was alone. Tilting his head to one side he looked at the hunter. "Excilency....where is your bond brother?"
