Lance smiled as he set his left paw on Atreyu's shoulder while with the other he hit him hard in the stomach. Lance only flinched as the pain of hitting such a solid object shot though his arm. letting his arms fall he nodded as he looked at the rest of the squad as he hefted his rifle. Sliding the bolt forward without even thinking. "You guys ready?"

"I am ready, lets party" Acriena whooped and jumped onto her bike and revved the engine, waiting for the others "lead the was Atreyu, lead the way."

Leading the group of assorted "weirdos" through the maze that is the city he soon had them at an access door to the robot maintenance tunnels opening the door the scope of how they would be getting in soon settled on the party... the passages were to narrow for a hover bike and only by use of anti grav pods (or teleportation) would they be able to get where they needed to go..

Lance smiled as he jumped on his back and felt the sensation of all the power behind him. Smiling widely again he set off after Atreyu. But he made sure the second soldier was in the back of the group, to act as a rear guard.

It was quiet a long drive until they made it to the building. Setting his bike down gentle he jumped out and looked at the small air vent. Shrugging about the talk about anti-grav pods he grabbed some for later, and just dove into the small tunnel. Running on all four paws he was just able to fit in the tunnel. Looking back his puff ball of a tail shook with his excitement. "Well, you guys coming." He said with a smile as he changed his goggles to night vision.

Soran steps through his vehicle and through the tunnel past Lance. "I'm coming all right."

sensing no danger Atreyu shares his first ability with the group by suddenly teleporting about 300 meters into the tunnels and standing on a small ledge waiting

"Nice power Atreyu." Soran says as he runs through the walls toward Atreyu. "How long until we get there?"

with no problems half a day or so we are going deep

Continuing to hop down the small tunnel Lance finally caught up with Atreyu. "Half a day.....that's a long time for these people to attack us." After he spoke those lines he wished he hadden't. Now the none soldiers of the group would most likely start to freak out. But they need to be aware of the danger. This wasn't like any story or simulation they might have done. This was real, you make a mistake, you die....

Rathien gradually urged the assault shuttle through the upper ceiling of earth's introsphere. He kept the throttle low, just enough velocity so that should he come under attack he could make quick time into altitude, but lazily enough so that he could clearly make out the world far below.
The things that had changed about him were symbiotic with his new mindset, after almost a day and a half of squandered time and delirious self loathing he had finally summoned the iron will to move.
The controls felt odd yet not difficuilt under his oddly clawed fingers, and his leathery skin shifted twice as deftly as they had before on every surface.
He scoured the earth laid before him through amber and golden eyes....nothing seemed changed, all seemed well.
He cursed, tensing his sinewy muscles and tipped the stick.
The assault shuttle dropped, falling like a fiery hawk to a mere four thousand feet in a few seconds.
Rathien grimaced as the gravity suppressors struggled to cope with the sudden shift in G-forces, but his new constitution helped, he felt little in the way of pain now.
He cast his mind back over the sporadic communicades he had picked up during the last day, incredible thigns had been said and claimed, and the very few ping transmits he'd intercepted were even more worrying.
Especially the one he'd received about the meeting.
He was late, he ha dprobabaly missed whatever had occured, but he was approaching.
His eyes adjusted to the harsh brightness of the sun soaked morning, his eyes narrowed at the unwelcome light, his new nocturnal instincts shying from the stars light.
The shuttle skimmed above the pinnacles of the skyscrapers, its powerful grav engines howling as it drifted through the sky.
Rathien frowned, noticing mroe than a few bodies scattered ant like in the streets below.
He instinctively cycled the weapons systems, glad he had replenished supplies at the mars orbital, and with a quick conflict of thought he deftly deactivated the grav engiens and switche don the softer sounding torrent repulsors.
There was a minute lurch as the ship adjusted to its new bouyancy then the shuttle hovered in midair, the air warm and distorted beneath its belly.
Twin linked R60 chain guns buzzed and locked in place at the shuttles nose, and the floor of the shuttles nose became translucent, giving rathien the widest view possible.
With a gentle hum the shuttle ocn emroe drifted onwards, towards the location the worldwide ping had spoken of, the pilot wary, and equally oblivious to the group of bikes heading away across the city, trailing dust in their wake.

Rathien dropped lightly to the dusty concrete, the shuttle stood bulky and imposing at his back, almost filling half the roads width. the buildings now ros e up on either side, dark and silent, only the wind and distant crump of indistinguishable explosions were on the air.
Rathien breathed deep sighign as the assault shuttles repulsors whined and cooled. He winced as the sun flashed throuhg the wispy clouds, urging him to start forwards, clawed feet tapping on the concrete as he moved along the roadway. The building was there, doors laid open and metallic walls shining in the rbazen light. scattered equipment lay voer the groudn, and the tang of phosporous and cordite was rnak on the wind, fresh scorch marks staiend the walls.
Rtahien stood silhouetetd int eh open doorway, and needed only that glimpse to know they had gone.
Only the ntoe on the table caught his eye.
He drew it close to his amber eyes, and scowled.

All at once the damage made sense, the scattered rubbish, the scorch marks, the cordite brought it all together.
"So, they're after you. But why? And which of you?"
The Master! he sneered with a whisper. dropping the ntoe to the filthy floor and striding from the abandoned room, clawed feet tappign a quicker rythm now he new he could be of some aid.
He had no intention of letting one who could explain his tranformation be slain by shady corporate guns.

pushing through the dark tunnels all seemed oddly quiet, shouldnt the bots be working? where are they? signaling suddenly from the front a raised arm with a fist balled tight, stop, wait!! Atreyu continued several yard forward, head raised sniffing the hair, over the com systems a hoarse wisper reached the others "lock and load, something is comingl"

Following completely silently behind Atreyu as they walked through the maze of tunnels Lance never spoke a word. Most would call this the 'soldiers zone' where his entire attention as focused on the task at hand, nothing else. As soon as Atreyu at stopped Lances pistol was already out of its holster. Standing up he whispered to Acriena and Soran in front of him. "Lay low, I need a good angle." He said simply as he looked down his pistols scope to the end of the tunnel. It would be foolish to leave his spot at the back of the group, it would leave the others open from a attack from the back. Going back to looking down the tunnel his ears stood straight up, listening for any sign to tell him what was coming....

soon a buzzing noise is clearly audible in the tunnel but as of yet nothing can be seen up ahead of Atreyu's crouched form..all the sudden to everyones eyes atreyu's form seemed to dim almost like you could see through him...and a 2 walls of fire sprang into being 30 and 35 yards up the tunnel revealing several large wasps about the size of a black lab.. all 5 of them were caught between the 2 walls... "MUTANTS ATTACK!!"

Soran sprang into into action, pulling the trigger of his launcher and hitting one of the wasps head on. "I got one!" He shouted in jubilation.

Lance kept looking down his scope as the tension in the room rose. But the buzzing noise made him lower his gun, that noise sent waves of fear over him, and his eyes widened as the sound grew louder. When the walls of fire sprang up Lance shielded his eyes, but when he finally lowered his arms the sight that meeting him chilled him to the bone. Taking one look at the wasps he dropped his pistol and took off down the tunnel in the opposite direction, a long scream reaching the ears of his comrades....

(Heh, ill wait for the others to post, but you said that it was a deathly fear, I don't think your orders are going to fix it )

"I'll go after him. Maybe I can give him something to assauge his terror." Soran fired 2 more missiles at the wasps, then phased after Lance.

Acriena stood her ground and whooped a war cry and fired rocktes from her bike, and whipped out 2 Flamethrowers and started to bunr the wasps to a crisp. You could taste the burning flesh in the air, but Acriena kept going. Yelling at her teammates "go I will cover you, and follow when I can!"
