From Corneria to Venom

Post by Faclan on Sun Mar 16, 2008 11:09 pm

I seem to be on a roll with these bloody things Smile

As the title suggest this is about the latest thing I've become obsessed with, the Star Fox series of games. Then again I've always really liked the series, its just now, thanks to Super Smash Brothers Brawl (SSBB), letting you play as Wolf O'Donnell, my obsessions has been revived.

Anyway. Yes, I'm going to try this like the halo one, just to see if this works. If you Don't know who the Star Fox and Star Wolf teams are, look them up. The time period we will be playing in is just after Star Fox Assault. So the galaxy is mostly at peace. The evil scientist Andros has disappeared, at least for now, no-one has seen or heard of him since his last defeat. The Aprids have been defeated, killed forever by Fox. Fox's rival Wolf O'Donnell, hasn't been seen since the defeat of the Aprids, but reports of him have been made. It is assumed that he returned back to his life of crime.

You can chose to be on the side of good or evil, any species is open to you. You can chose one of many jobs. Civilian, Pilot, Soldier, Shock Trooper, any spot in the military, anything else within reason. Be creative. All jobs can be on either side, good or evil.

Any other questions just ask.

Name: Marcus Lumikko
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Race: Weasel
Height: 5' 7''
Occupation: Rogue pilot (mercenary except hated by the good guys.)
Weapons: Illegally upgraded lazier pistol and a proficient paw-to-paw fighter. His single seater fighter 'Shadow Fang' Is also a very effective weapon. Well known to improvise when needed.
Appearance: Light sand colored fur, thin long tail, white under fur, and deep brown eyes. His hair is normally messy and around mid length. He also has a series of tattoo's along his chest, back, and arms. These tattoo's were given to him by the mercenary's that he now works with. They resemble a dragon on his back and his curling tail on his front, which turn into two smaller dragon heads going down his arms. To keep his hair from falling over his eyes he uses the goggles on his head to push his hair back. Those goggles that he wears he has never been seen without, silver metal with two light red eye pieces. He is normally seen wearing a open white flight jacket, under which is a dark red shirt, loosely fitting red pants tucked into thick black boots finish off his attire. Often looks 'bored' when hes not flying
Personality: Much like his father Marcus was often moved a lot during his youth. Because of this he never made many friends and is normally very quiet and shy. But because of his constant moving he has also gained a lot of knowledge about the Galaxy. But he still rarely speaks to anyone new he meets.
History: Born on a space station as his parents were always on the move Marcus never knew a home. Never knew a true friend. Never found love. But strangely he doesn't seem to care. As far back as he can remember he has always been on the move. Because of this he has seen almost every part of the galaxy; From the sprawling metropolis of Corneria to the water world of Fortuna. The only world he cannot remember seeing is the wasteland Venom, but then again he never wanted to. When he was fourteen both his parents were killed when pirates attacked the transport vessel they were on. Marcus was taken into the pirate vessel, and soon was put to work. For two years he was forced to do menial labor, beckoning to the pirates ever wim. But this made him strong. So as soon as he had his chance, when the pirates were engaged in a losing battle with the Star Fox team Marcus made his escape. For days he drifted in space, barely staying alive as the life support system started to weaken. Just hours before death would overtake him he was rescued by a band of mercenaries. Marcus assumed they would be much like the pirates. But to his surprise only the second day he was with them they gave him a gun and started to train him to become a warrior. He soon realized that this group wouldn't be what would would call law abiding, He found this out one day when he was training. He was in the sparring room when he heard an announcement to stop and come to the main hall to greet their employer. The first thing Marcus noticed about the Wolf as he walked into the training hall was that he was missing his left eye. He had only heard of one person that matched the wolfs description. Wolf O'Donnell, one of the best pilots in the galaxy, and leads the only team that has come close to killing Star Fox. He knew the Wolf was powerful the moment he saw him,a nd instantly respected and revered him. Such was the reason that Marcus devoted his time to becoming a pilot, so he could one day be as good as his hero Wolf. By the time he was twenty four he was soon a extraordinarily excellent pilot and was soon taking assignments from the same people the mercenary band was. He still lives with the mercenary's, which make their base in a asteroid belt between Fortuna and Sector Z, waiting for that one time he can take a mission from, or even fly with Wolf...

Like last time once we get a few profiles here We'll start RPing.

(Might aswell start this, I waited for Admin and Jade and now they can just jump in later.)

The door to the hanger hissed open as a figure strode into the room. The lights flickered on as the beast passed the motion sensors. Soon the large room was aglow, the light shining off the different surfaces of the many ships docked there. Padding across the floor the weasel walked over to a particularly shiny black and blood red ship. Grinning slightly the weasel flipped his goggles down over his eyes and climbed into the cockpit of his ship. Tapping the controls the ship hummed into life, and soon hovered off the ground. "Marcus!" A voice sounded through the small speaker at the front of his plane. Slipping the silver headset over his head Marcus tapped the ear piece as his ship got closer to the exit. "Yes Johnathan?" He asked, almost sounding annoyed as he flew out of the hanger and out the asteroid, which small door soon shut behind him. "You do realizes that your going after a ship, albeit very undergunned ship, alone right." Chuckling slightly as Marcus deftly dodged the asteroids he replied. "Thats a point isn't it, the employer didn't want to have that many attack, so it would seem like an accident." "Still you should take at least one more, your luck can't hold out forever Marcus." Rolling his eyes behind his goggles. "You should know that my kind never run out of luck John, besides I'm not far from base, if things do go wrong you can always send help." There was a long pause before the voice replied. "Alright Marc, just don't die today, I heard Wolf is in the system again." With that the com system crackled and shut off. Smiling slightly as he exited the small asteroid cluster Marcus soon entered the main field. So Wolf was back around here, he would make sure that he preformed this mission without a single fault, Wolf would be bound to notice him then. A small beeping in front of him caused him to break from his pondering and looked out into the blackness. The merchant ship was almost in range of his sensors. Smiling he flipped a few switches and his ship atatched itself to the closest asteroid, all non-essential systems turning off to cloak his ship. Soon that ship would get a surprise it wouldn't froget....

Re: From Corneria to Venom

Post by Calithlin on Thu Apr 03, 2008 11:46 pm

Name: Red Smith
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Race: Red-tailed Hawk
Height: 6' 0''
Appearance: Brown-gray feathers with a red tail, black-tipped tan beak, red tail feathers, and a robotic left wing/hand (whatever you want to call it).
Personality: Moderately grumpy unless on an high-yield mining expedition. Both loves and hates his job; loves the the technology, hates the monotony during the actual mining process. Very disgruntled about the partial loss of his left wing.
Occupation: Freelance Asteroid Miner
Vehicle: Red's ArW-LM MP (Arwing-Landmaster MinePro), Gray Rhino resembles a mix between a Landmaster tank and an advanced Arwing space-fighter, and is about 2.5 times the size of a normal Arwing. The Gray Rhino boasts an immense T&B-J2 Laser Cannon (found on Landmasters) for heavily pounding asteroid crust to get to their hidden caches of minerals. Besides this, the ship has only two small lasers on its wings. The Ship also contains powerful shields to protect it from small asteroids. As for space, the ship can hold two crew comfortably, but can hold three if needed. This ship has a special feature that differs it from most ships; this ship can attach a large cargo-container to its underside to allow it to use a tractor-beam to pull in materials from/during mining operations. This separate box-like attachment can be removed/reattached at any point (even in space). True to its name, the ship can (when not attached to its cargo section) drive on land with deploy-able wheels-treads.
Weapons/equipment (On Person): Mining Laser-Pick (hand-held), Quick-Draw Blaster, wrench, small tractor beam (for small-medium rocks) and a small low-grade shield generator.
Mother-ship/base: The Hold is a small base attached to a relatively well-sized asteroid out in Meteo. The Hold is mostly comprised of a large storage warehouse/garage, a small research room, a small living quarter, a control room, and an observatory at its top. Strong shields keep small asteroids from colliding with the base. The base is normally empty for week-long periods of time while Red is away on business.
History: Born on the planet Katina during an age of questionable political conflict, Red learned to live through harsh conditions by collecting and selling/redistributing any junk he could come by. This affinity for digging through trash has lead him to a successful life as a freelance asteroid miner. Recently Red had completed an order for forty tons of a rare titanium ion found only in the asteroid field Meteo. This lucky opportunity has made Red wealthy enough for complete business-independence. Because he is constantly on the move from customer to customer, Red really doesn't have a home. The closest thing to a private residence for Red would be a small base in the asteroid fields of Meteo, where he most often mines and takes customer orders. Red never mentions his family.

Blizter was flying his ship IronFang around the expanse looking for the person he was going on the raid with. Blitzer activated his controls and send out a message on the private channel sent to him by the mystrious man "Alpha code 333 blue mark ready for go." Blitz waited for the reply.....

Smiling slightly as the ship got ever closer Marcus lowered his hand to the button that would disengage his ships landing gears and he would start his assignment. But just as he layed his paw on the switch a voice sounded over his comm unit. Jumping slightly as the voice spoke he listened. 333 blue mark, that's the one that said he might make it. Tapping his comm he spoke, his paw falling off the detach button. "Copy that 333, this is ShadowFang, are you in position?" He asked, already powering up some of the systems...

Re: From Corneria to Venom

Post by Calithlin on Sat Apr 05, 2008 7:50 pm

Red's Gray Rhino had been slowly making its way through space for the last few days, all the way from the opposite side of the solar system, to this small asteroid belt near Sector Z. Red quickly looked up the mineral he had just been contracted to mine. After a few minutes of searching through assorted order forms, he finally found his current target mineral; a low-fracture compound found mainly within this exact asteroid belt. Hoping that the gravitational pull of Fortuna had been in the right season for the correct chemical bonding, Red turned on his scanners to search for his prize mineral. No luck; it seems that the pay for the contract was so high this time 'round was because it was on short-supply this yearly-cycle. Red sighed as he tirelessly scanned for any sort of sign of his precious mineral deposit. To Red's surprise it appears that there was a small grouping of asteroids that still contained his deposit of minerals. Red quickly punched in some additional calculations of the asteroids; it appeared that these were a strange forced-bonding of superheated steel and mercury. Red clasped his hands in anticipation, last years miners must have had the older scanners that couldn't detect bonded mercury ions. Thinking to himself before heading in, he was quite glad he had brought his large cargo-attachment. After this thought, Red engaged his throttle and modestly closed in on the asteroid. Upon closer scanning he found that this asteroid has an odd ship-shaped anomaly. Red discounted it; it was probably just some old fighter that had crashed into the asteroid a while back. Red engaged his T&B-J2 Laser Cannon and set it on continuous beam-fire. The beam slammed into the asteroid and its surface began to crack. Red engaged his small tractor-beam and began to suck up small chunks of the inner deposits. Red began to yawn, knowing this process would probably take an eternity to gather all of this abnormal all-metal compound.

(To make it totally obvious/clear: yes, this is the same asteroid Marcus is attached to)

(Sorry for the wait Cal, playing Mass effect again, evil this time.)

Smiling evilly Marcus waiting as the large freighter ship passed the small asteroid he was on. Once again raising his paw to the detach switch he was just about to flicker when massive shaking rocked his ship. Steading himself against the side of his cockpit he looked up. A ship was shooting at him! Glaring at the large vessel Marcus looked back at the asteroid as he felt the ground shift. He was rising.....Looking back to his controls as more alarms started to sound Marcus's smile returned. Flipping the switch to disconect his ship from the asteroid he dropped for a few meters then his engines roared into life. Looking from the frighter to the mining ship he nodded, turned his ship around he flew his ship deftly past the new smaller asteroids floating around the miner and hovered just in front of the ships main window. He could see some kind of bird sitting at the controls, Marcus still keeping his evil smirk. Charging his weapons just to be sure the bird didn't try anything.

Re: From Corneria to Venom

Red twiddled his thumbs for a moment whilst his ship pounded away at the crust of the Asteroid and broke into its core. The sudden movement of the 'crashed ship' confused him for a moment, but thought it may have just dislodged with the shaking. A small red warning light flashed on and made annoying beeping noises. Red couldn't understand what was going on. There was no one in sight to make the *You Got Enemy Fire* warning to go on, he thought to himself. After rubbing his head for a moment he looked out the window at an odd glow. Red jumped in his seat and banged his head on his ceiling. After rubbing his head for another reason for a moment, he looked out again and still saw that ship! He jumped in his seat again; though he didn't hit anything this time. Red was positive that he was about to be under enemy fire immediately; some pirate wanted his precious cargo (precious practically only to red) and would stop at nothing to get it! Red quickly punched in some commands to his ship and the tractor beam intensified. Red rapidly engaged the side-engines on his ship to swivel him (and the asteroid) around, thus placing the asteroid between him and this mysterious pirate. Red opened up his communications to anyone within the radius and said "You even get near my cargo, and I'll blast right through this asteroid and right into you! So s-stay back!" Red nervously held his hands over his controls, waiting.

Marcus watched in amusement as the bird finally looked out the window. Chuckling slightly as he saw the bird freak out. But then the bird started to madly stab at his controls. Learning forward slightly Marcus made sure his hands where on his control yokes as he watched the bird ship. As a small beep and his eye eyes warned him he quickly boosted back a few meters to avoid the asteroid as it stuck himself between himself and the bird. Quickly weighing his options as the bird spoke Marc could see two main options here. One, he could just leave the bird and go after his assignment. Or he could blow up the asteroid, deal with this stupid bird, then go after the freighter......Really not a hard choice to one such as him. Taking aim at the middle of the asteroid he shot of a few lazier blasts in quick succession. The already weakened rock falling apart in a few seconds. Soon the bird and Marcus were face to face again, his weapons still ready to fire. "I have no interest in your cargo bird." He said simply as he glared at him through his window. "But I do hate creatures who interfere with my mission and try to destroy my ship." With a small smile the ends of his lazier guns started to glow, gathering energy. "Got anything to say to try and spare yer life?"

Red barked out "Not really... only... EAT T&B-J2 LASER FIRE!" just as he had slammed his fist onto a large red button. The Gray Rhino spewed forth a huge beam of energy right through the hole in the asteroid and right into the direction of the weasel's ship. The fire had astounding recoil, and sent Red's ship zooming backwards quite a distance.

Marcus only had time to wonder what the hell the bird was talking about before his eyes widened at the massive bolt of energy that was speeding toward him. Quickly rolling his jet as fast as his system would allow him out of the way he just barely missed the massive energy wave. But that didn't mean he didn't suffer damage. A few choice swear words filtered through both the comms of 333 and the bird as Marcus's ship sparked and flickered. The radiation from the shot had fried most of his systems except propulsion. Slowly turning his wounded craft back toward the base Marcus continued to swear loudly into the comm as he slowly made his way back to base...

Red cheered loudly and heckled the defeated 'pirate' as the weasel flew back into they abyss of space. Red sighed with joy as he looked down at his ship's status; everything besides engines and the hatch for the cargo-hold were totally powered down. Red slammed his head on his controls "OF COURSE the tractor beam stops NOW," he cried out. After getting a few systems back online Red started to spend the rest of his day attempting to fly around and gather the debris of the donut-like asteroid. Red almost cried he was so bored; the monotony of trying to get small rocks into a metal-like-net almost bored him to death. "This contract ain't worth it..." he muttered as he gathered enough to fill his cargo-hold. Red spun his ship around and prepared to leave the system.

Shihab sat back with a bored expression on his face. "So you're hiring me to collect some rocks? Is this some kind of joke?"
The frog in front of him leaned back and said, "No joke. My buisness rival sent out some bird weeks ago. I want to know why it's so special."
Shihab sighed deeply. "You'll pay for any needed repairs on my ship? As well as supplies needed and a bonus if I'm succesful?"
"Yeah, sure, whatever. Just find that bird and convince him to give up the cargo. If you have to kill him, I'll pay for that too."
In one fluid motion, Shihab pinned the frog's sleeve to the table with one of his knives. "I don't kill unless I have to scum." Straightening up, Shihab scowled at the frog. "I'll do your job. Have my pay ready for when I get back." He took back his knife, and turning, he walked out of the cantina(or pub, or bar, or whatever).

Re: From Corneria to Venom

Still curseing as his ship sputtered into the landing bay of the mercs base a new thought struck Lance, and he slammed his paw into the already damamaged control pannel. He had been beaten by a miner....there was no way Wolf would take him on his team now. Sighing his head fell to the control pannel as the auto-piolet engaged, hovering his ship toward the repair station. Climbing out of his damaged craft he sulked into the base as robotic arms started to crawl over his ship, sparks flying. Grumbling under his breath he didn't make eye contact with any of the other mercs as he made it to the training room. Slipping his goggles and pistol off he set them next to him as he started to work on his melle skills on a bag that hung from the ceiling. His mind was still full of what had happened....He had failed the mission, he had let the bird escape, he left the other one alone, and his ship was badly damaged. Growling he swiftly took out a dagger and sunk it deep into the bag. Resting his head against the bag he sighed. What a crappy day, what else could go wrong!?

Red's ship finally slowed to a stop just outside of Fichina's atmosphere. Red never really liked the cold, and seeing the planet's white surface made him ruffle his feathers. Red held one hand over his head-set and spoke into it while his ship beamed a signal down to the planet, "Hello, operator? Yea, I need a frequency open with sector 55 X-C 11.5... OK thanks." Red pressed a few buttons on his control panel and a screen opened up with a rabbit on the other side.
"What is it Red," the rabbit said, "did you drop another shipment to pirates again?"
Red perked up and replied, "oh, on the contrary, I have your cargo right here, plus a surplus! You should be able to build at least twenty barriers up in your polar bases with this."
The rabbit twitched its nose with eagerness, "wonderful! you will receive a little bonus then, depending on the size of the surplus," he said.
Red pressed a few buttons on his panel again and responded, "Alright, I am heading down to the space station to await one of your courier's arrival." Red stretched and thought of what he was to do with his bonus.

((OOC: Sorry! When I thought cargo ship, I saw a huge freighter in my head.))

IC: Shihab looked with disgust at the ice planet. "I'd better get that bonus he promised." he muttered. Listening in on the active frequencies, he heard a bird and a rabbit talking about some cargo for polar bases. "I'm going to demand an extra bonus. No on mentioned ice in the job offer. Ah well, might as well get it done with." He opened a channel with the base. "I'm here on behalf of a company. May I dock?"

Blizter awoke with a start to hear someone yelling and cursing coming from his transmitter. Blizter then realized that he fell asleep on the job "dang, I forgot to help the guy out." Blizter heated up his ships engine and streaked toward the ship that seemed to have his partner held captor and fired a stream of laser fire at the ships back half.
