Inheritance Cycle

Has anyone read this cycle? It consists so far of Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and one more.

I sometimes hear a litle voice in my head asking me if I have anything better to do with my time. That little voice doesn't have a lot of say, since it insists on playing by the rules.

Sci-fi: Name: Nefriit Huijari Age: 28 Gender: Male Race: Northern Humans Class: Mage Appearance: Nefriit has deep green eyes, which always appear to be staring into the middle distance. His hair is cut a centimetre from his scalp, and is mahogany in colour. He has thin eyebrows the same colour as his hair, which he uses to illustrate points in conversation. His skin is the same shade as coffee with cream, and is almost free of blemish. The exception to this rule is the burn scar that covers his left cheek, as well as part of the left side of his mouth. This gives him the constant appearance of a half-smile, which lends a sense of humour to all of his expressions. He wears the same pair of clothing every day, using magic to clean both it and himself. This outfit is composed of a jade-coloured shirt and moss green pants. The shirt is a perfect fit, so as to allow maximum dexterity. The pants are constructed in the same way, but they are tight at the ankles; whereas the shirt sleeves are not. His fingers are long and thin, providing an interesting juxtaposition to his larger than average palms. He wears sturdy shoes, which he repairs using magic whenever necessary. He wears socks, which many consider unusual. The socks match the colour of the shoes, that of sunburnt leather. The shirt, pants, shoes, socks, and underwear; are all made of soft and sturdy cloth, made from plant fibre. He has all of his teeth, and they are all white; and his nails are kept short but otherwise untouched. He has muscles, but nothing special, only what one would get over years of walking. He carries no weapons, but then again he doesn’t really need them. He has a backpack that he uses to carry assorted oddities and bric-a-brac, but since he uses magic to create food and water for himself and anyone who asks. Personality: Nefriit is cheerful whenever possible, the only exception being when he has to resort to . He believes that everyone has a spark of good within them, but that those few who do evil do so because they’ve become convinced their actions are justified. Occasionally, upon encountering any severe injustice; he stops it and then broods on his duties to the world. Nefriit never broods around others, as he doesn’t want to add to any sorrow they might be feeling. He is a very serious soul, and takes many injustices as personal sorrows. While this might not exactly be healthy, it is how he was raised and he stands by it. He values integrity and compassion highly and daily strives to attain greater heights of both. While he doesn’t force others to follow his morals, he won’t allow anything he considers immoral to occur. Rather than steal, he suggests asking permission. Rather than kill, he suggests binding their ability to do harm. Another large part of him is his sense of humour, which many find hard to understand. This doesn’t stop him from making obscure jokes that he’s picked up in his travels. One of his less than savoury qualities is his all-encompassing arrogance, and he’s been referred to as a know-it-all more than once. As such, he often makes people feel like he knows what’s best for them, and only really good ideas seem better than his own. History: Nefriit was born in the trade city of Kotimaa, to two parents and an older brother. His parents held the timeless beliefs in the powers of a name; and so assigned to him a twofold name: that of the arrogant, beautiful, breathtakingly powerful Nefriit; and that of the caring, persistent, and ugly Huijari. Knowledge of his name came at a young age, and he was proud of his first name. His second name provided only confusion and questions that clouded his young mind. Did his parents hope that he would be kind and caring, as well as beautiful and powerful? Or did they simply wish to give him food for thought? Regardless, in his mind he loved his parents fiercely and they returned the favour. His brother, older by barely a year, was given a name that was never explained to Nefriit. Vend Tryggur was that name, and Nefriit spent some of his younger years wondering what his brothers’ name meant. Three years after he was born his sister was born, and she and Nefriit got off to a rocky start. This was due to the fact that Nefriit attempted to sell her to a pair of passing Techie Elves; who almost bought her. Her name was Soră Bahagia, and her name was never explained to him either. After this rocky start his arrogance grew, as he believed that he was ultimate in the world. Everything he did took little effort for him, so he didn’t value anything, including his siblings. One thing he did put effort into was science, and he constantly did reckless experiments after the tradition of the Techie Elves. His father, Tėvas Terhormat; and his mother, Ibunu Szeretet; cautioned against such behavior. Like most children though, Nefriit would have to learn his lesson alone to stop experiments. At the tender age of 11, he gave himself a severe burn on the face. His sister had been dabbling in the magical arts of healing, and repaid his long years of mistreatment with the healing of his face. She prevented his , but her lack of any real training caused a permanent scar to form on his face. While he could have had it removed at any time by a trained Healer; he left it. His parents, though hesitant, stood by his decision. All of the other children felt comfortable showing their true feelings for him now that he wasn’t protected by his beauty; but he honestly didn’t care. He came to realize that he was cruel to his siblings, and decided to change that. His siblings forgave for his years of abuse rapidly, and he was ashamed (though no less arrogant). At 13 years old, his parents felt that they should show their children a place of peace and learning; and as they all had an interest in magic there was only one place to go. Burtai, the land of the centaurs and the Makara; where Soră, Vend, and Nefriit could learn their respective magical disciplines. The journey in one direction took a full year with favorable currents, so they traded all of their non-portable belongings away for long-lasting food and fresh water. His father won passage on the Jūra Viajante; a centaur ship; by challenging the ships’ captain; Lyderis Gnista; to a friendly match. While his father got thoroughly crushed, the centaur admired his pluck and agreed to let them come along for the ride. The centaurs valued children greatly, and allowed them to run amok on the ship; making sure to keep them away from the edges. Nefriit was enthralled, and passed a dreamlike sea voyage where his only complaint was the similarity of the food (the centaurs had no mages, as they considered magic cheating). Topping the wonder of that journey was arriving at their destination. The giant plains of Burtai were filled with the legendary walking trees of the Makara. He and his family were introduced into a community of the bird-like beings with their many wings and lack of arms and legs. His sister was put in a class for healers and was quickly accepted, as 90% of the Makara children also wished to become healers. His brother was accepted as well, but into the care-givers who kept the tree upon which the Makara lived healthy. Nefriit was an odd case, as the custom of the Makara was to have only one offensive magic-user at a time. They put him under the care of Rozloha Geleerd, and he took on the semi-legendary status of his new master. Under the tutelage of that most powerful of Mages, Nefriit came to understand that magic is the very essence of life. Rozloha also explained that the Makara were conduits to this magic, and as such had nigh-on limitless power. Nefriit worked harder than ever in an attempt to gain this power, and came frustrated to his mentor at the age of 19. His mentor explained that this connection could not be taught, that only Makara could withstand this level of power. Nefriit challenged that verdict, questioning why the Makara were not rulers of the world if that was so. His mentor took Nefriit on a journey through magic itself, showing him the history of the Makara as it had been passed down from generation to generation. The Makara had only ever gone to war twice before, and they were one of the most long-lived races in the world. Both times had ended in tragedy for the enemies of the Makara; and their empathy caused them equal pain. Nefriit was unsure this was correct, but continued to train under his mentor. Upon reaching 22, he and his family decided to head back to Xuitea, if only for a visit. One year later they came into sight of the continent and their first sight was a golden light in the distance. They thought it a good omen until they made it to shore and heard the tales there. Nefriit then departed, searching the land for some way to fight back the tide of Divinity. It is five years later, and he is no closer to finding what he seeks. Armor:Jade Cloak-Although all of his clothing is made with a more flexible version of the material his staff is made of, the cloak is the only one with additional powers. The cloak (made by himself)enhances his powers of deception, making it impossible to discover his tricks by all but the most powerful detection spells. Other Items:Spellbook-written by himself; Traveling pack-contains a sleeping roll, an iron pot, steel & flint, assorted herbs for healing, assorted stew ingredients, various tools of his trade. Abilities:Can cast spells and is adept in the use of his staff, trickery, and herblore. Physical Features:Medium stature, light brown skin, dark brown hair. Personality:Enigmatic, enjoys life. Fantasy: Name: Adrian Age20 Race: half drow Gender: Male Weapons(s): Rapier and katar Height: 5’7 Appearance long red hair, emerald eyes, lithe and athletic, a thin red beard kept short. History: The son of a rogue drow blade master, and a female human mage, Adrian grew up as an oddity in the land, for not only is he a half-elf but a half drow, inheriting his mothers height and hair and his fathers skin color, physical adeptness and grace. Adrian is graceful even for one of half-elven heritage. Adrian’s father trained him from a young age to be a master of the blade. His father captured by a drow raiding party when the found him defending the village. His mother was fatally injured in the raid and before she died she gave her son a great gift. She cast a spell granting him a drows long life making it so he can live to be upwards of 900 years old. After the funerals Adrian took what little he had left, his fathers Rapier and katar, his armor, a few of his mothers books, including one he wasn’t sure what it was… and set out to complete the task his mother set for him… revenge on the drow who took his father.

Fantasy: Name: Rijoq Title: The silver falcon Gender: Male Race: Human and less then a third of unknown creature. Height: 6ft Weight: 155 Age: 18 Hair: Silver Facial Hair: none Eyes: One silver and one black Build: Muscular Complextion: Light brown skin. Voice: quiet. Only loud when needed. Clothes: Has a tattered black cape, and cowl. And the other basic clothing items. Other appearance: Has a scar running down his left arm and right cheek. And his nails are somewhat like claws. Weapons: Unknown to anyone but himself Type of magic: holy/light, black magic DoB: Unknown Personality: When first met he is harsh and not very welcoming. It takes time for him to trust people. Strengths: Not trusting, quick on his feet and his mind. Weaknesses: Not trusting enough. Will kill if put into a rage. Fears: losing everything he holds dear. Prejudices: People that kill with no good reason. And tries look at things with an open view Background : Rijoq dissappeared as a young child (around the age of 10) right before his home was over run by an opposing country during a time of war. When he was found about 10 days later he was beaten and bleeding by a old couple. Then took him in and raised himas one of their own. About 6 years later the old couple wass killed by a group of renagades. Rijoq flew into a rage on site of this a killing. He grew claws and slashed each murderer apart, then fleeing into the forst. Leaving his peacful past Rijoq now wanders the world looking for ways to make himself stronger.
Sci-fi: Name: Rijoq Durano Age: 40 Gender: Male Race: Southern Human Class: Psi-Blade Appearance: Rijoq stands exactly Six Feet tall, has pitch black skin, red glowing eyes and jet black hair closely cropped to his head. His arms are thick and muscular, boosted with the nanites he carries. His legs are sturdy able to stand their ground but agile when needed. Rijoq has an average but muscular chest. Carrying a deep and foreboding voice he strikes fear into the hearts of many. Covering his body from his nose to his feet is a long pitch black trench coat covered from head to toe in black shining buckles. On the inside of the coat it is also purely black giving it the image of a never ending hole. The underside also has many pockets which allows Rijoq to hide many things that might be needed. He also wears black combat boots again covered in black shining buckles. Along the sides of the boots is the insignia of the Southern Human Special Ops. Rijoq has this spinal cord & skull, skeleton, and the muscles in his body all enhanced with the Nanites. Overtime his whole body will be enhanced. Personality: Rijoq is a very steadfast military agent. He doesn’t speak unless spoken to and even then in clipped sentences. Having the military training which allowed him to train his mind to resist enemy tortur.e it had an interesting side effect. Rijoq can sometime take on the emotions of those around him, allowing him to blend in greatly with his surroundings. His eyes are cold and unloving which gives him the persona of a heartless ki!!ing machine. Rijoq uses this to advantage at many times, this allows him to finish missions quickly without being detected. Ever since the Southern Human City was destroyed Rijoq has been slightly off. He has taken what the military had been and enforces it upon himself. At some moments he acts like a general and at other moments he is a infantry unit. But overall he rarely speaks. History: As a young child Rijoq was seemingly obsessed with hiding in the shadows and sneaking up on people. Often scaring his parents witless they entered him into a program for youth similar to him. As the years passed on by Rijoq realized where his parents had sent him, a place where children were trained to become Ki!!ing machines. Not really minding that his was his future Rijoq embraced it to the fullest. All the children were divided into sections of which they were to learn different ways of combat. Being placed into the Psi-Blade section Rijoq pieced together what he and the others in his group were become. Time flowed once more in Rijoq’s mind, he aged well and quickly gained favour in the military section of which he was placed. Only 3 students from the group of 70 were actually chosen to become Special Ops and to his glee Rijoq was chosen. Life for Rijoq really took an upside turn, receiving his Nanites Rijoq chose to alter this skin, hair and even his eyes. To his old fellows Rijoq looked like a completely different person. His new life began as soon as the Nanites had entered his body. Becoming what he had imitated his whole life, a shadow. Rijoq was the Special Ops member that even lowly grunts thought of him as an amazing agent. It was around 15 years after Rijoq had become a living idol of what people could become if they chose. That day is still imprinted in his mind. He was on a mission that day about 2 days of travel form his home. Rijoq assumed that something was wrong when his superiors didn’t recall him or send him on another mission. When he arrived at the city the bodies were strewn across the streets like a cloth over wounds. Stepping over bodies Rijoq searched in vain for survivors, there were pools of b!ood with bodies floating in them. All the smells made him vomit. At that moment Rijoq was never the same person, his mind c.racked, fractured. He vowed to uphold all the traditions of the South’s military and do no wrong in their eyes. Rijoq couldn’t take the stench of his fellow rotting bodies. Leaving the city with a heavy heart Rijoq wished that there were others alive so he would not be so alone. As Rijoq swam across the ocean break between the Southern he noticed a mass of people standing on the shoreline. Jumping up from the water, giddy with excitement he wandered through the crowd nodding to his fellows that had also some how survived. From that day on Rijoq wandered the world not as a Special Ops agent but as a man in search for something. He decided to leave the other Southern Humans to enter into other cities and acclimate themselves into their culture. But now was not his time to stay in one place, it was his time to wander and gain something he never had. Hope. He is the guardian of the Werik forest. Khos leaves his domain on the revenge he wishes to complete.
